For most girls, their wedding day is definitely one of those special events when they strive for everything to be perfect and memorable. If you’re one of them and you happen to be planning your wedding, then you’re probably wondering what you should be looking for, what’s hot, hip and trendy. These are the latest trends of the season:

• The hottest neutral is a shade of gray – whether it is slate, pewter or silver.

• Pocket invitations, which have slots to hold the extras like RSVP cards, direction cards, itineraries, etc., are very popular.

• Look for lavender, plum, raspberry and other shades of purple. Pair it with contrasting bold colors such as lime green or orange and everyone will be talking.

• Lace patterns printed in not-so-usual shades are making a big statement.

• Letterpress printing is hot. Letterpress combined with offset (flat) printing even hotter.

• Recycled materials, vegetable-based inks, and sustainable printing processes… Eco-chic is here to stay!

• Palm Beach “look” influence on design. This trend blends bright colors, preppy elements, and coastal motifs. Look out for tropical florals, palm trees, flamingos, and shells. So southern Florida!

• Affordable trends: chocolate-filled favor boxes, boxed imprintables, magnets, and stickers.

• Lattice patterns – from Moorish tile patterns to fancy trellises and basketweaves.

• Details, details, and more details! Sparkly crystals, patterned envelope liners, and custom envelope seals will add the final touch to a classic invitation or announcement.

Make sure to incorporate at least a couple of the latest trends, and your wedding day will surely be a special one!

The save the date!

Receiving a Save-the-Date notification is so special if you think about it. It shows someone you know that you hold them dear and deems it important that they be there for your special occasion. It’s a kind gesture, letting them know well in advance so they have time to make arrangements and do their best to attend (especially important for holiday weekends or in locales with ‘busy seasons’). When it comes to sending out your Save-the-dates, remember, they are the first impression your guests will get of your par-tay… they’ll shape the mood and get your guests excited.

The absolute instant you’ve set the date and locale, save-the-date cards should be ordered and sent out, ideally six months ahead. The invitation, which should arrive six to eight weeks before the actual date, will act as a refresher. By then, a lot of your guests will have most of their plans already set for your event.
