I was recently introduced to Blumebox, an Oregon-based company that offers eco-friendly flower vases. These adorable boxes made from recycled paper are perfect centerpieces for weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, or every day bouquets. The blumeboxes come in a range of colors and patterns. You can also add some coordinating ribbons and boas to create the high-style, low-cost look you want. The best part is that once your event is done you can store them flat to reuse in future events or simply recycle.

I came across this beautiful place card holder in one of my favorite sites, Etsy. The natural seed pod place holder/flower bud holder comes with 3 legs wrapped with natural cord. Perfect for an eco-friendly wedding with an earthy style!

As promised and to wrap up Jill and Alan Valek’s Real Wedding, here are their fabulous thank you cards. Alan says that they had Elvis sing to them at the altar so HE HAD to use him for the thank you card. As a designer I have to agree with him – he had no other logic and appropriate option. How adorable are these?!
Thank you guys for sharing your big day with us!

Last week, we shared with you the adorable save-the-dates that Alan Valek did for his weeding. This week he was kind enough to share his amazing wedding pictures shot by photographer Olga Wilson.
Alan told me that they gave their guests a gift box with shades and then had the photographer take shots of everyone. How cool is that! Their wedding was without a doubt fun and full of personality and style.
Check out the great pictures and stay tune, as we will be showing you pretty soon their thank you cards (Vegas-style).

So, you’re engaged… what’s next? Choose your wedding date and let everyone know about it! And how do you do that?
Well, if you’re as talented as art director Alan Valek, you can easily whip out a save-the-date like his. Simply Photoshop two pictures, hire your local screenprinter to print your design, source a local alteration shop to saw the photos onto a chipboard, paint the edges and voila! You got yourself a beautiful and memorable save-the-date.

However, if you rather use your talent doing something else. Check out some of Jayda’s eco-friendly save-the-dates.

Happy 2010!
Let’s start off this year with a fun wedding. The Florida based photographer Karen Lisa had the opportunity of shooting the wedding of Melissa and Mike at the Ritz Carlton Palm Beach. She was able to capture this fun couple getting married surrounded by beautiful orchids (which give the event an organic feel). Truly amazing!
