We’ve all heard about how you can make your wedding invitations, your ring, your food, your attire, etc. eco friendly, but “greenifying” your wedding music is not as common. I thought anyway…

I was thinking about this last night, so I made it my mission today to find a “Green DJ”. And I did! Please meet Bamboo Beats, they are the first green DJ in Seattle. What really makes them Green I asked? So, here goes…
- Bamboo Beats uses digital media (MP3’s) and vintage vinyl instead of CD’s.
- They drive from gig to gig in a hybrid.
- They buy green power.
- They only print the marketing material they need in-house in an Energy Star laser printer.
- They reduce, reuse and recycle everything they can.
- And, for every couple that books their wedding with them, they will purchase wind and solar energy tags to offset a portion of the energy consumption during the ceremony and/or reception.

Pretty cool! Huh? So, if you’re in Seattle contact them. If not, when hiring your DJ, look for a company that uses digital media and/or vintage vinyl instead of CDs. You would be making your part for the environment!

Hair is key on your wedding day. Whether you want a classic or a more trendy style, your hair accessory is what’s going to complete the look. Lately, more and more brides are opting for hair jewels, vintage accessories, silk flowers, and fresh flowers.

When selecting your hairpiece, just make sure it compliments your wedding dress. Don’t be afraid to add some bold colors – natural flowers would do the trick! If you want to go for the vintage look, go into your mom’s, aunt’s, and/or grandma’s jewelry box. I’m sure you will be able to find the perfect accessory for your day. If not, you can always have something custom made just for you. You can even combine something old (grandma’s piece) with something new…

Check out these styles I found, as well as one great hairpiece shop, BelleNouvelleDesigns.
