These invitations, courtesy of Alan Valek, are rockin’! He was lucky to get a client that was bold enough to break a few of the wedding invitation traditions. What a statement?!

One of our favorite designers from Chewing the Cud, came up with this tutorial for a bunny-style wrap (perfect for wrapping round objects). And, we had to share it with you guys. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

1. Place Give Cheer fabric wrap face-down and put object in the middle.

2. Take opposite corners towards each other and bunch together.

3. Tie a knot and fluff to form bunny ears.

This is what it looks like at the back.

And voila!
I came across these adorable moss covered creations by Spotted Leopard. They are able to decorate with moss from your initials, to your table numbers to a tealight candle holder votive. Perfect for a garden wedding!

Fun, cool, yummy, oh, and eco-friendly! That’s what I can say about our new find, Feverish Ice Cream. This Miami-based company offers an exciting new option for your wedding day, engagement party, bridal shower and bachelor/bachelorette party. An ice cream truck!
Their super chic and environmentally friendly trucks carry unique popsicles, paletas and even a tasty variety of healthy/vegan ice cream. When you book Feverish Ice Cream you will get the ice cream truck appearance, an ice cream cart, a dessert station or gourmet ice cream creations served via butler pass. Who says ice cream trucks can’t be cool and good for the environment?
As I’ve said before, one of the “funest” part of getting married has got to be putting together the gift registry. And Re:modern, a California-based retailer of sustainable modern design (home furnishings, gifts, & lifestyle accessories), is here to help out in the process. They offer a free and easy gift registry service that will allow you to set up and manage your wishlist in a few clicks. Best part– everything in their shop is not only eco-friendly, but also gorgeously designed. You have to see for yourself! These are some of my favorites:

Have you met Adele Wechsler yet? Well let me tell you… this amazing designer is a pioneer in eco wedding gowns. I believe her gowns are simple yet full of so much personality. She designs “for the bride who cares about the world in which she lives”. Her philosophy is simple: “I think it is essential for each of us to try and make individual efforts on this earth, no matter how small, in order make an overall difference!
Adele Wechsler’s Eco Couture collection paves the way for a luxury look that maintains eco-friendly standards by using certified organic hemp and silk, vegetable dyes, and remnant fabrics and lace. And, every piece is produced with Fair Trade Labor in Toronto, Canada.
One interesting fact is that Adele Wechsler has a tree planted in the home state of every bride that purchases at one of her trunk shows. So, eco chic!

A couple of weeks ago, I was introduced to a really wonderful wedding resource, My Wedding Workbook. This is an efficient (and free!) tool that offers a green alternative to the often messy and not so eco-friendly wedding paper planner.
I had a chance to “test-drive” My Wedding Workbook and I must say that I really loved it. This is an user-friendly site that allows brides to keep organized in one place all of the details pertaining not only to the wedding but also to all of the other events happening before and after the big day–such as the engagement party, bachelor and bachelorette party, bridal shower, etc.
My Wedding Workbook lets you manage your guest list, budget, monthly tasks, and vendors. You can download a number of worksheets and checklists that will come in very handy throughout the planning process. And if you would like to back-up all of your information or if you need to give electronic files to anyone, you can simply export in Excel format all of your relevant data.
This is definitely a must for all those brides that need a little help keeping everything organized and safe in one place. Rosanna, thank you so much for sharing this amazing tool!

I was recently introduced to Blumebox, an Oregon-based company that offers eco-friendly flower vases. These adorable boxes made from recycled paper are perfect centerpieces for weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, or every day bouquets. The blumeboxes come in a range of colors and patterns. You can also add some coordinating ribbons and boas to create the high-style, low-cost look you want. The best part is that once your event is done you can store them flat to reuse in future events or simply recycle.
I came across this beautiful place card holder in one of my favorite sites, Etsy. The natural seed pod place holder/flower bud holder comes with 3 legs wrapped with natural cord. Perfect for an eco-friendly wedding with an earthy style!

As promised and to wrap up Jill and Alan Valek’s Real Wedding, here are their fabulous thank you cards. Alan says that they had Elvis sing to them at the altar so HE HAD to use him for the thank you card. As a designer I have to agree with him – he had no other logic and appropriate option. How adorable are these?!
Thank you guys for sharing your big day with us!
